There are studies that say that reactions to colors can be predictable. Each color can elicit different unconditioned reactions from the audience. An example given on one of the articles is that white causes higher energetic response to joy and freedom while blue stimulates a peaceful and calm reaction.
In this regard, it is important to choose the right color scheme that one selects to convey a message. It is critical that the content of a message matches the color of the media or environment that the message is delivered.For example, a poster advertising a party of fun may have an abundance of the yellow color as the example in the left figure that yellow is associated with fun, and happiness. |
But I think one of the problem with this is that not all agree to the exact reactions to the colors. It seems to me that there are some slight variations of what experts say as the emotional response to different colors. It is important then to do a thorough research and maybe a sampling of real audience before making a final selection on a color scheme for your project.
